The past few years Dominic has been working on his reading and really enjoys it. At our old Library in Nashua NH. They have this wall where you can read 1,000 books before kindergarten and have your hand print on the wall along with your name. I signed Dominic up when he was 3 1/2, just a few months before we had Madeline. The program works that every 100 books you read. You keep track of the titles then bring the librarian the list to get a reward. The awards would be a pencil bag with crayons, erasers, small books or bags. When Madeline turned 1. I started her list and its been growing pretty quickly these last few months. She has me read her at least 2-3 books before bed. And when we have our road trips I am in the back seat reading book after book to her. She has her favorites for sure. Anything with 'Pete the Cat', animals, Chick a Chick a Boom Boom and William and Boomer.
Dominic had his last field trip with his "Monkey Classmates" in Ms. Lisa's class. As we depart from World Academy. Dominic has made many special friends that we believe that no matter the different schools they attend, they will keep in touch (with mommy and daddys help with driving).
The field trip was to Benson Park (our favorite). This park use to be a Zoo about 40 years ago. They still have many of the old cages from the lions, gorillas and other animals they had. Dominic's best friend Joey was happy to car pool with us and was very well behaved. When we got there the 1st activity was a scavenger hunt. There was a list of 12 things we need to find or guess as we explored the whole park. Some of the things we need to find were Mother Goose House, the name of the biggest pond, number of swings and a few more. All of the kids in my group were great and helpign out and worked fast to get to the playground.
