Mt. Washington FUN

This year we went to Mt. Washington for our annual trip to celebrate Nanas birthday.  We had a BLAST!!  The 1st night Daddy and I brought 'Cards against humanity' for adults as kids played games.  We made pasta and just ran around. It was a great 1st night from a long over due vacation.

This year it ended up raining a majority the 1st day but we were able to play guns and squeeze in pool time on our real 1st day in the mountains.   Every year Bampa and Nana bring a "themed toys for the kids. This year it was Nerf guns.  This year Dominic and Frederick did not need swimmies but Madeline and Alex did.  However this year we did not hang in the baby pool except for 30 minutes.  Madeline wanted time away from the boys.  Other then that we were in the bog pool and making waves.

On Sunday we took the Cog to the top of Mt. Washington to meet Nana, Bampa, Daddy, Lauren and Brian.  We just hung around in the morning playing and coloring.  Then headed to the Mt. with the kids and Grandma.  We got in line and sat in the way back of the train.  We had a blast.  It was pretty cloudy as  we were heading up the mountain.

As we were on the train.  Madeline enjoyed walking up and down the isles and Dominic was very content to sitting in his seat.

We made it to the top and took a picture with Daddy and the kids at the sign!!!
On the way down the Mt.  Brendan joined us and it was great.  The ids enjoyed hanging with thier cousin BUT Dominic fell asleep for a hot second.  This is when Madeline took advantage of him passed out.  She was messing around with him trying to wake him.. clearly didnt work.
After we came back from the Cog we napped and went to the pool one last time. It was a BLAST.  Then we had our traditional dinner at the Resort and was so memorable with running around and spending time.

1,000 Books and Field Trip Fun

The past few years Dominic has been working on his reading and really enjoys it.  At our old Library in Nashua NH. They have this wall where you can read 1,000 books before kindergarten and have your hand print on the wall along with your name.  I signed Dominic up when he was 3 1/2, just a few months before we had Madeline.  The program works that every 100 books you read. You keep track of the titles then bring the librarian the list to get a reward.  The awards would be a pencil bag with crayons, erasers, small books or bags.

When Madeline turned 1. I started her list and its been growing pretty quickly these last few months.  She has me read her at least 2-3 books before bed.  And when we have our road trips I am in the back seat reading book after book to her.   She has her favorites for sure.  Anything with 'Pete the Cat', animals, Chick a Chick a Boom Boom and William and Boomer.

Dominic had his last field trip with his "Monkey Classmates" in Ms. Lisa's class.  As we depart from World Academy.  Dominic has made many special friends that we believe that no matter the different schools they attend, they will keep in touch (with mommy and daddys help with driving).

The field trip was to Benson Park (our favorite).  This park use to be a Zoo about 40 years ago. They still have many of the old cages from the lions, gorillas and other animals they had.  Dominic's best friend Joey was happy to car pool with us and was very well behaved.  When we got there the 1st activity was a scavenger hunt.  There was a list of 12 things we need to find or guess as we explored the whole park.  Some of the things we need to find were Mother Goose House, the name of the biggest pond, number of swings and a few more.  All of the kids in my group were great and helpign out and worked fast to get to the playground.

Date Nights with Mommy

The past few years I have been wanting take Dominic to see "Aladdin" at the Palace Theater in Manchester.  It just always plays during the time we are at Mt. Washington.  This year we were able to attend and it was well worth the wait.  At this point Dominic knew all the songs and had cool dance moves to go along.

We went to a 6:30 show on Wednesday night and it was perfect.  When we got there Dominic started singing and was asking what I thought they were going to perform first.  I was not sure for its a 45 minute play due to little kids performance.  They did a great job with the beginning at the market (songs included), Aladdin being the chosen one with Gifar, meeting the genie and then how the titan gets brain washed by Gifar.  Very well done performance and the glow sticks were a perk to have during.  At the very end we were able to meet all the characters and get their signatures.  I asked Dominic his favorite part of the movie and he said the Genie and all his songs.

Mark and I have been taking the kids on date nights (like Aladdin) and spending one on one time.  Madeline choose to have a park date night with McDonald's.  It was so much fun and she had a blast.  Everything we did she would turn back to me asking to hold her hand, hurry up and wait. Wait mom for me to get you.  There was one part of us playing where she made ma stop at the swings and said they were dirty.
I asked why were they dirty, they looked clean to me.  She said someone pooed on them and we need to clean them. We ended up on the swings and we were learning how to pump our legs.  She did pretty good and I was very proud.
I cannot believe how big she is now.  I just think about Dominic at this age and know this will only last for a little bit and to embrace these moments.
