Soccer Season BEGINS!!

Dominic started outdoor soccer 15th of September.  This is the 1st year we signed Dominic up for Londonderry Soccer Team, outdoor.  He was really excited and enjoyed buying his gear.  Well really Bampa took Dominic and they had fun.  They got Dominic a orange bag and BRIGHT orange size 3, and 2 types of shin guards.

We woke up on Saturday ready to go as a family.  We got to the field and found the team #14, purple (our shirts are orange b.c there was a spelling error).  They first started off with stretching and running.  Then the coach started with 'red light, green light' with the ball When it was Red light they emphasized the 'red light' we use our foot to stop the ball.  Then they took the balls and did dribble practice and shooting practice.  For a few weeks they plan to practice then scrimmage then the others they just have practice.  So this session they had the second half scrimmage.  It was so much fun to watch the, play with each other.  They all have their own way of playing which is pretty neat to watch.  They all do really well but to young to really know how to pass the ball to each other.

Dominic played pretty well and I asked daddy what he thought since he is the soccer champ.  He loved how Dominic would stay back and watch where the ball was going or how  the team mates were kicking.  Then go in and take ownership of the ball and actually score.  The one thing I liked is that they done keep score for the scrimmages.  But I was counting and Dominic scored 4 times.  I liked how Dominic was a team player and when anyone scored he cheered.

This year we signed up Madeline for soccer and she was getting really excited.  We felt that she was ready.  When we had Dominic did not start him till he was little older then 3.  She has been playing up her brother and she MIGHT be better then him but we kinda feel that it may be true. When we first got to the field and we knew who the couch would be she introduced herself.  Her teacher was Sam.  Any questions or comments she would direct them to Sam and make her comments REALLY loud.  It was so sweet.

That day, daddy took Dominic to soccer and I got to take Maddy to soccer with Grandma.  When we go to Sportsplex.  Grandma and Madeline went to the field as made sure she was all set.  When I walked up I saw Madeline dribbling the ball all across the field with a HUG smile ear to ear.  Then when she saw me she stop and yelled "mommy come come play'.

We started the session about 10 after 10.  We first played 'red light green light' without the ball. Then we used the ball for three rounds.  Madeline was really good and would look back at me when it was 'RED LIGHT' and she would say mommy STOP.  She did a great job. When we broke out the ball. She dribbled very well.  The next game we played was with the cones.  They again practiced without the ball and practiced twice without the ball THEN they added the ball. Throughout the first games, we had water breaks.  There was a baby near where we sat and would take 'extra breaks" to drink but also say hi to the baby.

Then Madeline went up to the coach and asked to play a different game and they did.  So they decided to kick the ball and try to make goals.  Madeline was very patient.  And to be  honest she did a really good job listening and  waiting in line until it would be her turn.  Madeline seemed to have a great time and did not want the class to end.
