This year, is the 1st year Madeline and Dominic will be in two different schools. Dominic will be at Moose Hill and Madeline will Dominic first day was Monday, August 27th. On this day. Maddy had not started yet. She starts tomorrow. Today we got up and played after a big breakfast. Mom was working from home that morning. Around 7:59 am we went outside to play with chalk. Just as the clock hit 7:55 am the bus rolled up. We all walked with him to the end of the driveway and watched Dom get on the bus. He was so excited but did not forget to look both ways.At 11 o'clock. Mom, dad and Madeline went to get Dominic from school. It was so exciting to see him walk down the hall and smile as he saw us. The schedule we have, is since hes in AM. Mondays and Thursdays. He has Nana to pick him up THEN the other days he takes the bus to the YMCA. At the YMCA. They have a afternoon structure that after lunch there is curriculum that they work on, and then after 4 pm its all play.
After the fist week. Dominic seems happy and has no issues with his new school. Every Friday, they bring home homework, It is not mandatory, but Dominic LOVES to do it. Last week it was matching shapes and letters. This week it is the same thing but more 'complex'.The past several years I have always told Dominic to introduce himself and meet friends. He is great at it BUT does not always remember the kids names. Still working on who he plays with at school and YMCA.
After week two, we are in a good routine for the morning and afternoon. Dominic has been REALLY lucky that pretty much every day hes been at YMCA. Nana or Bampa has picked up Dominic early and that is a treat. Its a treat because he also gets too go swimming with the Bampa.
The next day, was Madeline's 1st day. She is in 'Pre-School 3' and her classroom is the Ladybugs. I knew that the first few days would be a rough time, but would be okay. Tuesday morning came and we headed out. We took a few minutes to take pics and enjoy the moment. When we got to school it was pretty rough when mommy tried to leave. This year was the 1st year kids did not transition till after summer, but the summer was fun to finish off with their friends. Many kids were crying and as each kid came in and saw this they freaked out too. I think that Dominic is fine with this transition and Madeline & hoping that they will continue to be happy and enjoy our new pick up/drop off plan.
Madeline was lucky to have 2 friends from her previous class join the Ladybugs. Everyday I pick her up from school. She runs to her cubby and presents her art work. She is so proud just like Dominic was. Its really funny how much she mirrors what her brother did. When I pick up Madeline. We head to the car and I ask Madeline about her day and she just asks to go to the park EVERYDAY. Once a week we take about 45 minutes and head out and run around, play hide and seek and she loves to push me on the swing. Her laughter is so sweet and contagious. Every 2 minutes... "mommy come get me" or 'mommy you cannot find me". I will say i enjoy these one on one moments with my girl. Our date nights are great but as a mom now with two you try to think if this was your 1st child to make sure you dont neglect those 1st moments you had with your 1st.

I feel that I have not really shared the progress and really amazing person Madeline is. She surprises us everyday. Her vocabulary is amazing.
- We read at least 3-7 books a night and I know that she just takes in everything that has been said and done around her.
- She has been able to dress herself since she was 2 along with being potty trained.
- She is really good at soccer and we just sighed her up for the Fall session and excited to see how this goes.
- She also can be pretty naughty with pushing the buttons of saying, 'yes-please and thank you'. It has gotten a lot better but she was a pistil.
- She loves to meet new friends, can be shy but in the end is confident.
- At night after we read stories she ALWAYS asks to keep the books in her bed. This reminds me of Nana telling me stories about Aunite Lauren and how every night she went to bed reading her books too. Other really neat things that Madeline does is just... list goes on.
- She love to play food and be a mommy feeding her family. Her teacher tells me she acts as a teacher and she mimics this at home.
- Madeline loves to be crafty and color. Staying in the lines and using so many pretty colors.
- Adores her brother.
- When she sees anyone that seems sad she walks up to them and gives them the warmest hug. Looks into their eyes and reminds them their loved and 'I Love You'.
- For months Madeline loves to make her own breakfast and lunches
- Such a genuine person like Dominic
- She has known how to sing the alphabet for the past four months along with her numbers 1-20.
- Shes very adventurous and does not let anything in her way. Going up slides, monkey bars ( on moms shoulders) or climbing up the spider web at Robey Park. This 2 1/2 year old is beyond her own years.
We are diving in week 3 for school with these kiddos and going strong. I feel that they are going to have an amazing year and I see their bond getting stronger every year. On a personal note. They are three years apart purpose an I believe DEEP down that it was meant to be. I pray that they know even when they fight that the love/bond will be forever.
After the 1st week of school mommy treated the kids to ice cream at Macs Ice cream. We even met some friends. It was a pretty hot day and we actually were able to eat all of the ice cream.
