End of Summer POOL TIME FUN with Family

We love the pool and our family time.  This was the end of August and were were living it up. We have been loving the time with our cousins.  We even were lucky to have a fun play date with the cousin at a brewery.

We all really enjoyed being together and having adventures.  The kids did not play with ANY of  the toys I brought to the brewery and just ran around playing games they have made up.

When we got there we picked our spot and set up for lunch.  Then we bought the beers and ended up buying flights.  As we hung out the kids played so well and really enjoyed hanging out.  After about an hour mommy took the kids across the street to a field.  This is where we ran around and chased each other.

At Macs Apples we have a few trails we can hike.  They range from 1 to 5 or more miles.  The one that we did in early September.  We loaded up with waters and a light snack.  We pulled up and the kids sprinted right to the pumpkin patch.  It was so much fun see a smile from ear to ear.

As we set off Madeline did not walk.  She ran the whole trail and she did not stop.  As we went through the trails the kids were pointing to all the squirrels, chipmunks, birds and even the steams along the trail.  The coolest thing they saw were the frogs.  They were camouflaged with the mud and we could barely spot them but Madeline sure did.

At Nanas and Bampas we continued to swim and jump off the diving board.  Playing crazy games.  Madeline just LOVES to follow the boys and play strong & hard all day long.   I am so proud that Dominic for several months has been swim-my free and Madeline has been really using her arms and legs to swim with her swimmers.   She also loves to jump off the diving board.  At the annual Ambrose cook our Ms. Madeline was in charge of all the swimming activities.  From jumping off the board to swimming on the beds.

New School Intro at Moose Hill - Orientation

Friday, August 24th Dominic went to K Orientation.  This was pretty exciting. Mommy took the morning to spend with her little man.  We played in the games,  colored and shared stories as we waited till 9:30.

As we headed into Moose Hill, Dominics new school it was exciting and Dominic was eager to see his new classroom.  As we entered his room, there was a sign in and check list for the kids.  However, Dominic saw the cars, legos and that s where he gravitated towards.

After 20 minutes I was able to get Dominic to help me with the check list and meet new friends around the room.  We went to 'sign in' then we colored the Moose and left that the drawing for the teacher.  After that, we choose our 'action' of what well bring to class  the 1st day which was a snack.  Dom wanted to bring gummies, but we finally agreed upon fruit bars.  Then, we went over to see where he would put his backpack every day and cubbie.

After about an hour. It was time to ride the bus.  I knew Dom would have no problem, but wanted to be there for his 1st time.  As we waited in line. I tried to take a pic and he would say cheese then punch my phone.  He was being  a ninja and I felt that was a way for him to be strong for himself. As we progressed to the bus. I let Dominic choose his seat.  The bus started and we road around  for 30 minutes.  After about 20 minutes.  We pulled over and the driver talked about rules and asked what questions they may have on the 1st day of school.  Dominic was quite but he knew what he should and should not do.

After we got off the bus. I took Dominic to his last day of School at World Academy.  When we arrived. All the kids were at the pool.  I helped Dom with his suit and headed over. When we went through the gate everyone was so excited to see Dominic.  It was really neat to see the kids reactions to seeing him and the bond that they share. Dominic has been at World Academy since 2 1/2 and what a great journey.

I am very prod of Dominic on the friends he has made, things he has learned and how much he has grown.

Wallis Sands you are so good to us!!

As summer was ending I wanted to take the kids to the beach one more time.  I tried to collaborate with Aunt Lauren and the kids but our schedules did not align.   Our last trip we actually arrived at 9:05 am and were there till about 3.  We were have so much fun and soaking in the time we had together.
When we got there we picked our spot a little farther away from the water so we did not have to keep moving the blanket and umbrella back.  After we set up our spot we ran right into the water and were in there for about an hour.  We were pleasantry surprised that we saw about a dozen sand crabs,  There was a little girl and her mom hat made a water bed for them.  I wanted both of my kids to check them out and play with them. I was very proud of Dominic with actually touching the crab.

After mommy was done we went back to the blanket and got a snack.  Then we took our traditionally stroll across the beach to look for shells and other creatures.  This trip we actually found a lot.  We saw a 'whole crab' but yes it was dead.  Then we saw some pretty cool shells and LOTS of seaweed.

As we finished up our walk we decided to build our HUGE castle and sand road.  Mommy bought big shovels and buckets for this last trip.  It was a huge success.  Madeline was a great help digging up the lines for the road and then would assist Dominic with building castles.  The past few times we have worked together to make castles. How we not just put sand in the mold BUT we pat it and make sure its all set. As we were building we saw a few lady bugs.  Madeline was very excited and truly enjoyed hands on experience.

After making our castle/road,playing in the water and making friends we had a blast.  Dominic could LIVE in the water and I am really grateful he is such a great swimmer and Madeline as well . She is very smart and know hers limits with the water and how far to go. I really enjoy holding her hand and inching up as we go deeper.

As our last day at the beach comes to an end.  We ran around, laughed, ate lunch on Mommys lap (yes all my kids) and just enjoyed our time together.

I am really happy that I took the day off to make these memories.

As we closed our day our we took the traditional REALLY cold shower then icee with a snack.  Loaded the car and headed home.  As always like clock work Dom was out in 10 minutes so Maddy I played Moana and Frozen songs.

I am a pretty lucky mommy.
