Madelines 1st Field Trip and Doms as Kindergartener

So I have just loved to take Dominic on all his field trips.  It is a memorable time that I have with him and get to meet his friends. I am so lucky.

This was the first year Madeline went on a field trip and it was such a blast. I was able to go Parlee Farms.  I was a chaperone to her friend Macakla and they were little chatter boxes all the way to the farm.  Singing and talking about what apples (colors) they will be picking.

When we arrived we all gathered in groups and listen very well.  Madeline was smiling from ear to ear and ready to eat every apple. We took a wagon to the field in which we were able to pick 6 apples and put them in our bag.  As we were walking in the apple orchard Madeline LOVED just sprinting down the lane screaming 'A-P-P--L-E-S I am going to eat you'.

As we were walking around picking up a pumpkin she also wanted her brother to get one and take one home too.  It melts my heart when I hear her want to do these sweet things for her brother.
During this field trip I took so many pictures (not all posted) with her and me and her.  I love these moments b.c there are no distractions of work, errands, and things I need to do.  It was just me and my girl.

After about 30 minutes we gather around to take the wagons to the pumpkin patch.  This was so much fun watching their eyes light up and pick the perfect pumpkin.  Madeline just loved walking around and trying to straighten all the pumpkins in piles.

Near the end before we had lunch we were taken over to feed the bunnies and goats.  I had to buy an extra bag of food because Madeline was just loving, running around and giving kisses and feed every animal.

Just earlier that month I was able to take Dominic on his Kindergarten field trip.  This was really neat because his school is on Mac Apples Orchard.  So all we needed to do was line up and walk out the front doors of the school.  I was a chaperon and we were able to have Amanda in our group.  She is the sweetest little girl and her and Dom love to play karate.
I got to his school early to play with Dominic and just have fun.  We played food store and he showed me where he sat at story time.  When it was time we all lined up and walked out to the orchard.  When we got to the spot all the kids were asked to circle around and talk about the rules.  After that we were treated to hearing a song all the kids worked on.  It was all about the life of an apple tree and what we kind of dishes we eat with apples.

After we reviewed the rules and sang a few songs we were ready to pick out our apples.  We were able to bring back 6 apples to the wagon.  Every year when we go picking with our family it is at Macs Apples and we get to climb the trees and pick the best ones.  We were NOT allowed to do this and Dominic was a little sad.  After we picked our apples and headed back to our wagon.  We were told to pick one of our favorite apples.  Mommy, Don and Amanda picked their favorite apple.  Then we were instructed at the count of "5" we take our 1st bite of our Macs Apple of the season.  All the kids were just so excited and eager to eat the whole thing.

A few weeks later when I went to Dominics Class open house they had homemade apples sauce... YUM YUM
