Springing into Spring

The last few weeks have been very busy ones.  I faced the difficult returned to work after 8 great weeks on bonding with my son.  The adjustment has been very hard since I’m so use to knowing what Dominic is doing every minute.   I had to deal with the fact that I am not going to be able to watchDominic grow and learn during the busy work days.  Luckily, we have a great family that has helped with this transition and we still get the mornings, nights and weekends to play.

It has been great to start working with my colleagues again.  I’ve had a lot to catch up on, which has filled my days and helped the transition.  My co-workers all love to see pictures of Dominic and we’ve even been able to Skype and Facetime!

Dominic has spent the majority of his days with Mark’s mom Donna (AKA Nana), with visits to Lauren and Leah sprinkled in.  I have been dropping Dominic off at Donna’s at 8am each morning armed with clothes, blankets and enough milk to make a cow jealous.  Dominic spends most of his time at Nana’s house but does make trips to “The Shop” to see his Bampa and helps drive Brian (Mark’s brother) to and from work.  At 5pm Donna drops off Dominic and the work day ends for me.  This is the best part of every day!

Over the last week Donna has been soaking up the sun in Florida.  Luckily, Lauren (Mark’s sister) and Leah (Mark’s cousin) were able to watch Dominic for a day.  We are sooo thankful for their help and could not have made it through the week without them.  It’s times like these we know we made the right decision when we moved back from Colorado.

Over the past weekend we were visited by Aunt Annie (AKA Tia).  She flew in from Philadelphia in order to see Dominic, Mark and myself.  It was great that she got to spend so much quality time with Dominic.  We spent much of Saturday in historic downtown Nashua…. eating good food and drinking great wine, while catching up with each other and passing Dominic around.  We missed Uncle Tom but we know we will get to see him very soon.  Hopefully the Ambrose family will be down in PA this summer.
