This year we went to Saco ME for Donnas birthday. We stayed at a house that holds weddings and fun work adventures. We got there on a Monday afternoon in time for pool adventures since it was so HOT. After a few hours we ate, played and then smores. The one cool thing about this house was they had an indoor pool. Not deep put the kids love to play games and dive to get their "gold and rings". Thank goodness that tuckered them out and they went to the their end of the house (yes literally the other side of the house) to get ready to sleep.
The next day we woke and enjoy the slow morning of parents tag teaming to run and rest. Since we have never been to Saco ME beach. Nana, Bamba, Me and Maddy went to check it out. It was a little chilly that day and we headed out with a sweater. When we go there we walked the "board walk" and headed to the beach. Brian ended up getting ice cream and Maddy and I headed to the beach. I am a true OC Maryland girl. I head out with a lunch, water and towel. Here they came out with tents (yes TENTS), coolers and brought food from the boardwalk like steak sandwiches, funnel cake, cotton candy and more. It was disgusting. The fun part of our adventure was the sand castles we made and ended up getting out butts wet. The beach was long and we enjoyed running and chasing each other.
Later that afternoon the kids went crazy and played for hours in the outdoor pool. We had many blow up toys, basketball and more. As they kids we playing. Freddy took, Alex me and Stacey to a cool local brewery named "Barreld Souls Brewing". The beers were a few IPAs but had some great sour and sweet beers. Much fun and had some great QT with my man Alex. We talked movies, gaming and how schools fun but eh.
Later that night we broke out to family games outside and had so much fun. Of course its not an Ambrose party unless we grill out with our favorite griller Steve Nelson. Madeline waited patiently for her steak tips and was thrilled but how many he cooked just for her. As we grilled and hung out we broke out the Jenga, corn hole and card games. Everyone took part in the games and there was a lot of completion as normal. We had Kay Kay and her BF then Mark joined with Nana. Me and Law and a few more players. We all had a variety of experience and just had a blast. We all were so surprised on Nanas come back and did great.

The next day we pooled it early (aka the kids) as the adults hung out, ran and enjoyed QT. Then we decided to hit up Main Street. We treated ourselves to some yummy local ice cream, walked and shopped. In the afternoon we hit up the pool for it was HOTT. I finally was able to grab Dommy and play some of our favorite game, chess. I bought this for him at Christmas and we have been playing quite a bit. He loves to play with Bampa and I thought if him and I play he get really good and kick Bampas butt. He has too and really love the QT we have been doing together.
Later that night we order food and played "Wits and Wagers". This is a "ICONIC GAME" we have been playing for the past decade. And yes I said decade. This year was my 15th year celebrating Donnas birthday and this game always comes out.
The next day was another BEST. As we know the kids love the beach adventures with mom. So since I have never been to ME beach I made sure to pack the good and head out, even if its for a little bit. On Thursday we headed to the beach and were there from 11- 2. We ended up going to Ferry Beach Park. It was very pretty and fun but the seaweed was really disgusting. However this did not stop us. We just dove in and had a blast. Built castles, boggy boarded, paddle games and SOOO much more. We all went and the Schalls joined us for a bit. Many fun memories made in our "happy place". I even got Mark to come and sneak away for a beach walk <3.
Later the afternoon we headed back home to the house and ended up leaving that afternoon. The kids pool played a few more hours with the family the headed back home.
Mom and dad had one more day of vacation on Friday. Mom woke early to get her 20 miler in then POOL TIME at Nanas. They were home already and we continue out QT family time. The past few days and that day it was heat advisory. Mommy made lunches and we swam from 12-5. It was a blast. We played, we were mermaids, explored the "ocean' and more. These moments we cannot get back. Be present.
