Getting Ready for Holidays

This year we took part in YMCA candy cane hunt.  It was so much fun.  We got to see Santa and play in the snowball pit.  NO ONE GOT HURT but is was intense.

   

We went outside to hit up the fire pit. TOOOOO many cookies and cups of hot chocolate. We then were released to our age for getting candy canes (my kids dint like them though).  It was so much fun with the several pits and energy from kids.  

 Madeline's age went first and if you found a candy cane with a ribbon you would get an extra treat.  Madeline and Dominic both found two each and Maddy was a lucky girl.  Then is was Dominic's turn and it was REALLY crowded BUT Dominic found two candy canes with a ribbon too.  This particular even we were lucky cause it was cold but did stop snowing just in time.  The kids were full of energy and the spirit of giving too.

Madeline has been taking dance since June at school.  Then in the Fall we signed her up to take one lesson a week and the academy and one at her school on Wednesday.  She really enjoys the different dance moves from Ballet to tap.  

During dance Madeline does have a wondering eye and cannot always stay in one spot.  I was VERY nervous that she would get up on stage and something happen.  She sure did surprise us.  

All the girls did a great job as the teacher was off to the side so no one could see her.  At the end of the first ballet dance Madeline was to the far right and had a HUGE sneeze.  We were lucky she let it go at the very end cause it was big.  They finished the number and sultanate off the stage.  Then came back on for the tap and blew everyone away.

This Winter Dominic played basketball and it was a challenge but fun. He enjoyed seeing his friends and there were two from soccer that were on his team.  Dominic focused on dribbling and passing a lot.  As I am writing this blog now we have been quarantine from Covid-19 for over 2 months and bought a basketball hoop.  I am pleased to say we have a really nice hoop and Dominic is much better.

For fun Madeline wanted to do ginger bread houses and did a great job.  However she did sneak a lot of the added goodies but hey ~ thats okay.
