Mark and I have different feeling about COVID and kids fun. I am being more careful for Mark and trying to be smart. Since Summer, Mom takes off several Fridays to go to Wallis Sands and fun trips.
On my Birthday every year I take off with the kids and head to the beach. We dive, explore and just have fun. This is our HAPPY PLACE. We hang in the water, walk the beach, eat, made friends and I just try to have QT with each kid. Maddy loves the water so much but there are times where Dom needs a break. When we first get there we pick our spot but this year high tide was much later in the day. So therefore we were very close to the top of the beach and long walk to the water around 2. The perk with this was for the first three hours the water was at our toes. Around lunch time we crossed over to the public side of the beach. The waves tend to be higher and the kids love to ride their boggy boards. After an hour of that we crossed back over to explore the other side of our beach and collect snails. At this point of the day it was low tide and we could really explore the rocky terrain.
The 2nd trip we explored so many more adventures and was our first encounter with a storm on the horizon. The tide was really high when we first got there and were not able to explore the rocks and snails. Finally we did and it was AWESOME. So any snails and even after about an hour if Dom saying he is "ready to go" we ended up bring there for an additional two more hours. Even with COVID we are careful but to be outside and spend so much time on the sane is fun. The kids also like to adventure the other side of the beach and we love to jump over the rock wall and dive, play and explore new territory.
Theses moment we play a game or read as Maddy builds castles. They are so loved. Thus year as we play on the beach we saw HUGE crabs and even though the was was chilly our kids were in there for 5 hours.
Later during summer we headed to the Franklin Zoo which we LOVE. There was a special light show and butterfly show. This was so much fun. Exploring for hours, talking about animals and just learning together as a family. BUT before then Mommy & Daddy ran a great 5 miler race.
