I am ONE .... WaHoooo

On the 20th of January, Madeline turned one and I think were all still shocked on how fast this year flew.

At 12 Months, Madeline Loves to .....

  • Climb on everything
  • Sit in her recliner chair and then try to stand walk
  • She can take 5 steps
  • Started swimming class with mom and do the following things; climb in and out of the pool, blow bubbles, catch the toys as they float around, and learned how to make farting noises with the ball
  • Still feeding herself yogurt with a spoon
  • LOVES to drink water from a big girl cup
  • Telling me when she is "All Done" eating
  • Tackle Dominic
  • Feed her baby doll
  • Eat every piece of hair, paper or small item on the floor
  • Likes to get up on all 4 and try to walk
  • LOVES when we walk around with her and look at our pictures on the wall and point out items
  • Drive Dominic's cars around and make the "Voom Voom" sound
  • Roar like a dinosaur (not kidding) while playing with the figurines
  • Curls her lips and snort
  • LOVES so sing and clap to the following songs; bah bah black sheep, twinkle twinkle little start and if your happy and you know it clap your hands
  • Talking non stop and starting to pronounce words

Her birthday fell on a Friday and mommy does not work Fridays.  I asked Dominic what he wanted to do with his sister that day. He responded, "Let's see the planes".  So we played all morning, packed a picnic lunch and went to see the planes and visit the museum at Manchester Airport.  We succeed with a great lunch and even managed to see a few planes on that overcast day.  Lunch was a little tricky, because Madeline is non-stop and I had to feed her in my lap.

We celebrated Madeline's 1st birthday on the 28th of January.  We were lucky to celebrate with family and friends.  Madeline's day started out with a happy bubbly girl waking up like she always does and then swimming lessons with mommy.  Her swimming class includes lots of singing and practicing swimming skills.  That particular day, they climbed out of the pool, sang Humpty Dumpty and then jumped in. This so far has been her favorite activity.  Well, that and catching the swimming toys (since it's just me I don't have pictures YET but ill bring daddy next week).

Around 1 p.m., this is when the fun started.  Madeline invited the Casey, Hanlon and Messom kiddos to celebrate her birthday as well as her family.  She was very polite with her new friend Evan (Stephanie's little boy who is 5 months old) by showing him how to ride the horse and play with balls.  He just started to sit up so he was loving all these new views.  The Hanlon girlies we so sweet by playing with her doggy and play house.  When Dillon arrived, he was all hands on deck with Dominic's train table.  They all crawled around (some walked) and had a blast.

When it came time to celebrate with cake and presents, Madeline was getting a little tired. Next thing I realized, she was with Bampa snuggled.  When Dominic turned one, he did the same thing and did not want to leave Bampas side.  When we were able to separate the two and sing her Happy Birthday. She calmed down and digged into her cake.

After Cake we opened presents and this was very fun.  Madeline sat in her chair and opened all the presents and loved eating the tissue paper more than anything.  When all the paper was gone and we opened up her presents she had fun.  She was lucky to get lots of clothes, puzzels, baby doll and felt letter and number game.

On Madeline's 1 year appointment she was 18 lbs (25th percentil), 28" long (25th percentile). She is our little peanut for sure.  Madeline LOVED crawling everywhere.  Dominic for his 4 year check up, he did great and is a growing boy.  He was 40lbs (75 percentile), and 41" long (80th percentile).

Madeline has been helping mommy a lot by cleaning up and putting things away.  Her favorite thing to put away has been her flash cards and Dominic's cars.

Madeline LOVES her animals.  Especially playing ball with Ellie Bell.
