Mt. Washington ... family of 4 now!

This was our 1st year heading to Mt. Washington for Nana's birthday as a family of 4. It was a great time and now we have one more grand kid added into the non stop fun.  This year we ended up not climbing the mountain, but we took a few short trips to the trails with the kids.

The first day of vacation. We went to "Story Land", and it was the Ambrose's (our family)1st trip.  Story Land was so much fun and a REALLY big park and we only were able explore about 30% of the park.  When we were there, we did as many "big boy rides" as possible.  Everything from the flying fish, cars, roller coasters, tea cups, swings and water rides.  Our first ride, when we got their was the historic motor cars.  Daddy was in the passengers side and Dominic steered the car.  He was the shoulder to Madeline and I as we rode in the back seat.  We also had a great time eating shaved ice....and i think Dominic, Frederick and Brendan enjoyed their the most.

As all the older kids were running around riding as many rides as possible, Maddy was content with jumping on a few but mostly just watching all the fun.

The second day, the boys ended up hiking a few trails as Madeline and I.  Along with others later in the day took it pool side.  Madeline was in the water for over 3 hours just kicking it.  We were even had the opportunity to snag the "cabana". It is not often its just me and the little nugget have girl time.

Friday night we grilled out and celebrated Nana's Birthday.  We wanted to do something really special for her so we were able to get all the grand kids together for a photo shoot.  They all did a really great job and LOVE how each personalty shined through in the photo.

Saturday Morning, the boys were treated to take a trip to the Mt. Washington stables.  This is where they got to learn about grooming a horse and how to ride. The trainer first discussed how to walk around a horse and showed the kids the different brushes for the horses and how to properly use them.

We LOVE Bampa !!

Family time and...

.... being a daddy's girl....

.... and very silly

We are 2 tootheers now  :p

One thing I forgot to add with last months update with Madeline was pretty BIG.  So, Dominic was a pacifier baby and Madeline, we were picking up that she is strictly a baby who loves to suck her fingers.  I have come to the conclusion that for the most part.  Madeline likes he pointer and middle finger.

Buzzzzzing Bumble BEE's

The title for this blog was Dominic's idea and quite appropriate.

Madeline is now 6 months old and what a "BIG" girl she is.  She has been very busy with trying to keep up with her brother.  She loves to watch her brother but NOW she has been trying to execute all that he does. She has been non- stop rolling over.  She rolls to her belly, back then back then to her belly.  She gets Dominic and mommy dizzy.  And with all of that rolling, when she is on her back she'll try to sit up.  Mommy and Dominic joke that she is working her "core".

The past few weeks, I have noticed with her non-stop activity.  She has been getting a little board with her floor toys.  So we brought out the standing toys and games that stimulate hand and eye coordination.  She has been much happier and a lot busier.  Some of the things Madeline loves to do is grabbing for the gravity ball that moves all around, reaching for her animals, playing with her keyboard that plays nursery rhymes, and standing up while holding onto anything that is at her level. We have also been focusing on trying to get her to sit up on her own. The past few weeks, she has been sitting up and leaning on mommy. Now, she can sit up by herself for a good 30 seconds to a minute.  She also loves to fake sneeze, we have noticed.  A few months back, mommy would fake sneeze and Madeline thought it was the funniest thing.  Just recently, I noticed some of her cries were pitched like a fake sneeze....the cutest thing.  We also just put together the jumper. She is just long enough for her toes to reach the floor.  She likes this for about 15 minutes but this week she has noticed the bee and birdie that hang around her head.  So now she is very intrigued.

In the beginning of June, we started Madeline on solid foods.  She has been doing lunch with Nana and dinner with momma.  When you pull out the bib and she sees it.  She starts to get really excited and shake her fists and screams with happiness.  It is the cutest thing.  Her favorite foods are sweet potatoes and bananas like her big brother. In ever meal, we have been adding oatmeal  to make her meals more filling and help her sleep in longer stretches at night. For the most part, this has been working but she is a growing girl. So shes not sleeping through the night seven days a week yet. For her sleeping, she sleeps through the night about 3-4 days out of 7.  Not to bad at just about 7 months.

I have been working with Madeline on sitting up. It helps that she has found her feet the past few weeks for this process.  Now when she sits up, she reaches for her toes and this helps her sit up. Since she has been doing pretty well sitting up. I decided to sit her in the Bumbo eating dinner.  This has helped, but I only do this every few days.

July 20th, I took Madeline for her 6 month check up.  Dr. Dobbins was very pleased with how Madeline was growing both in weight, height and intellectually.  Madeline is 26" long and 14 lbs 7 oz.  She is very interested in reaching for everything around her, trying to stand and roll over all the time.

We also FINALLY were able to meet Ms. Adelaide. Mia and Brian Mays little girl who was born on January 19th, 2016. Brian and Mia were back for Becky and Josh's wedding. We were able to get the girls together for an afternoon at the pool and cook out. It was so neat to see them together and how they would interact with each other since they are the same age and learning how to really interact and engage.

I have had the opportunity to take Dominic to his 1st time to Canabie Lake.  My company had their company outing and I took Dominic.  We had a really great time and it was so fun to see him go on his 1st real "carnival ride".  We got their at 2 and stayed till 5.  We rode on as many rides as possible. His favorite ones were the following; the Catalpa, Bumper cars (my favorite and the Rooster).  When we first walked into the park, we saw the "Rooster Ride".  It takes you up and down and around.  I was really nervous but Dominic did great.  With the Caterpillar, it started and we were going in circles and then the tarp came over us and we started to scream with delight.  The Bumper cars I was so impressed with Dominic's driving skills.  He really was great at taking the wheel and driving it around and around in circle.
