Madeline is LOVING her big brother

Spring is finally here and the kids are really excited to get outside and play
till Mom says it dinner time.

Just as Madeline turned 3 months, mom started a new job and she wont be working from home anymore. This has been a pretty big transition, but everyone is adjusting well.  Dad is on Dominic duty (take him to and from school) and mom is on Madeline duty (since I am breast feeding the 1st year).  Mom really misses taking her little man to school and picking him up, but eventually when Maddy goes to school she will be able to do that again.

The past several weeks, Madeline has been observing her surroundings a lot more. Here are some of the things Madeline has been busy with;
  • she definitely found her voice.  She loves to babble and talk to anyone in the room or her animals
  • enjoys watching her brother play with his cars and trains and listen to all the noises he makes
  • loves when you make the most craziest noises, she laughs (her first real laugh was 3.18 and mommy called dad right away). And about 2 weeks after that, she just started to laugh at random things she sees
  • she has always loved to make eye contact and smile, but now she has more of a sparkle in her eye and speaks a lot now with her eyes and mouth
  • she has been such a good sleeper for mom and dad, 4-7 hour stretches
  • both with Dominic and Madeline, I would count up to 3, then I would take their hands and lift them up to a sitting position. But now Madeline has decided to take this one step further and now she stands
  • uses her hands to reach for her toys and mommys long hair
  • since she came home from the hospital she had found her thumb. She however was so young her coordination would take time for her to use her thumb instead of a pacifier.  Since it has been a few months since then, she has been loving to such her fingers in a variety of ways.  We are hoping this will be great for her so she doesn't need her pacifier all the time  :-)
  • she likes to try to sit up now when she is laying down.  she just wants to see what is going on around her.

On a more stressful note, Madeline has a mild case of GERDS.  She has been on medicine and we started gas remedies.  That has been helping, but we decided see if dairy is an issue.  Therefore Mom has had NO DAIRY in her diet for 2 weeks and this seems to be helping Madeline.  We will re introduce dairy again this week to confirm this is the issue.  I hope that she has grown out of this for I have over 250 oz. of breast milk in my freezer that I will just donate then.

Dominic has been such a great helper with his sister and wants to teach her so many new things.  He has already picked out toys she can play with when she gets bigger.  Any where we go with his sister, he is very clear that he is her big brother and he loves her very much.  Just the other day, we went grocery shopping.  I had Madeline in my carrier and Dominic was a big helper picking out food.  Every so often, Dominic would walk right in front of me and just kiss her foot.  It was the cutest thing and made me realize I really do have 2 pretty cute kids.

Dominic had his first play date, end of April with Joey (his BF) and Atharv from school.  They came over from 1-3 and we had lunch and played.  It was a great experience and Dominic really enjoyed having his friends over.  I was very lucky to have the trust of both mommies to drop their kids off and trust it will be a fun time with no worries.  We played inside with trains, trucks, ninja turtles and then took play time outside.  At this age their imaginations are so cute and I was very impressed with every ones manners at this young age.  At the end of the day, lets just say I could tell it was a successful play date based on how early Dominic went to bed.

The week of May 10th, Madeline started to get her groove on and wiggling her bum. She started rolling over and just loves the freedom.  Since then, she starts to fall asleep on her back but through the night she's been squirmy and ends up on her side.

She has also been laughing and smiling so much more. At first we we're making farting noises but now we found she really enjoys when you spin her and lift her in the air. She just looks at you and smiles not just with her mouth but eyes.

On the 20th of May, Madeline had her 4 month check up. She is a whopping 26" long and 13.2 lbs.. Therefore she is 95% for height but on 30% for weight.  When Dominic was 4 months old, he was 15 lbs but only 23 1/4".

The past several months we have also been watching Madeline's hair color ( mommy wants a red head). We think that even though she has some strawberry blonde she'll probably be blonde.

I cannot believe my babies are 3 years 4 months & 4 months old. Life is great and they are just non stop fun.

Just looking cute

He LOVES the dentist office Long day and now its silly time

On Mothers Day we went to celebrate at Nana's & Bampa's in the afternoon.  We just hung out and let the kids get crazy as usual. Today however, Nana had a few kites that we put together.  The kids had a blast and Dominic flew his first kite with the help of his uncle Steve.
