So Much To Be Thankful For

Dominic is nonstop since the knees officially hit the ground.  He is such a curious little boy and it so fun to watch.  Now that he is mobile, he can finally crawl to the kitties and play with them, aka pet nicely.  Abraham is a little more playful then Pepper. Pepper just sits there until Dominic gets excited and claps, scares her and she flees.  Abraham likes to swat at Dominic’s hands with his claws and this is when Dominic cries and crawls away.

Dominic loves to entertain himself but once you take interest in playing with him you are locked in and he races towards you and crawls up your leg.  He is such a flirt and with those baby blues how can you not want to eat him up.  He loves playing with his toys, and his newest one is a lion where you put the balls in the mouth and it counts back to you.  Dominic has finally been able to pick them up, put them in his mouth and close the lion’s mouth.  On top of that he takes the balls and throws them to me OR puts them in our Tupperware bowls.  Just watching him make these little strides is so fun to watch.

When we do bath time we have a ritual to look in the mirror, sing a song when done and just stare.  He looks at the mirror-me-him and picks up on that it is our reflection and then grabs mommy’s face and kisses it none stop.  Now that he has confidence in getting up and standing up on his own, he loves to try this in the bath tub… very fearless and makes mommy very nervous.

We know Dominic loves his food.  The past few weeks we have been having Dominic eat on his own bananas, watermelon, pears, berries, eggs, toast, tatters and sweet potatoes.  It is a work in progress and he just is getting use to the textures. He watches mommy, daddy and Nana eat the food which has made him more willing to do it on his own.  BUT nothing will ever be as good as his Puff Puffs.

For Thanksgiving we were going to travel to Georgia but Dominic got very sick and we could not travel.  It started off as a simple ear infection then 2 days later his temperature sky rocked to 103.8 with a runny nose and upper respiratory congestion.  After 9 days of some sleepless nights and monitoring his Tylenol and Motrin we FINALLY were able to help Dominic beat the virus.  Now he is a happy baby boy that smiles from ear to ear.  When he was sick, he wasn’t too unhappy.  Even though he wouldn’t crack a smile because he was so sick, he would just stare at us and be content.

This Thanksgiving we spent time with Nana, Bampa and some of our Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.  It was filled with running around, laughing with family and playing with fun toys with the cousins.

I cannot believe Dominic is 11 months and some of his favorite things are clapping, blowing kisses, giving “high five”, trying to catch the kitties and throwing ball with Ellie Bellie and now that he is mobile he is getting into everything.  He wants to explore everything that is new to him and when we call his name.  He does stop and listen at times when we say no but as every baby likes to do, they test their boundaries.

As we approach Christmas, we look forward to seeing how Dominic will react to Santa and the bright Christmas tree.
