Sanner Family in Town

Over these past few weeks Dominic has been getting bigger and bigger every day.  Mark and I were fortunate enough to have my father, mother and sister (Auntie Kim) Fly up for separate visits.  It was great to spend this time with my family and share Dominic’s early days, filled with belly time, grunts and learning his surroundings.

We were able to also have our first bath time at home with Auntie Kim!  She was a fabulous photographer and really helped up capture this moment and many others.

My father has decided that Dominic will call him “Poppy”, which I LOVE .  My mother has gone with the more traditional “Grandma”.  On Mark’s side we have Nana and Bampa (thanks Kaleigh)

Everyone who has met Dominic has an option on which he looks like.  It’s scary how much he looks like Mark as a baby but it’s fun to have people point out what features he’s got from him mom, most noticeably his hair which gets more blonde every week.

We also had grandma visit for a week.  Unfortunately it was pretty cold out but we were able to sneak in a walk in the neighborhood but most of our time was spent inside playing.

This week, being the first week with just Dominic and I we have been very selfish and spending our mornings playing in bed and slowly being introduced to the real world with an errand here and there to our favorite stores (Babies R Us, Buy Buy Baby and JoAnns).  Dominic has been more awake these past few days which I have LOVED because he is learning who is who and associating voices with our faces.

We have been home from the hospital a week now with Dominic and could not ask for a better baby.

He loves to eat, sleep, and open his beautiful baby blue eyes (he has from mommy) and "belly time".  Just on day 3 he was lifting his neck up and moving it back and forth several times. The doctor on his follow up said many babies do not start that till a few months old.

Dominic did come home with a higher Jaundice Level but since then it has gone down and he is in the clear.

Mark has been such  a great help since bringing him home, I am really lucky.  Its been wonderful to have these past several days together and be a family with Ellie, Pepper and Abraham.  All animals are taking well to Dominic but Pepper has a little bit of jealousy and rubs on Mark and me all the time.
