So Much To Be Thankful For

Dominic is nonstop since the knees officially hit the ground.  He is such a curious little boy and it so fun to watch.  Now that he is mobile, he can finally crawl to the kitties and play with them, aka pet nicely.  Abraham is a little more playful then Pepper. Pepper just sits there until Dominic gets excited and claps, scares her and she flees.  Abraham likes to swat at Dominic’s hands with his claws and this is when Dominic cries and crawls away.

Dominic loves to entertain himself but once you take interest in playing with him you are locked in and he races towards you and crawls up your leg.  He is such a flirt and with those baby blues how can you not want to eat him up.  He loves playing with his toys, and his newest one is a lion where you put the balls in the mouth and it counts back to you.  Dominic has finally been able to pick them up, put them in his mouth and close the lion’s mouth.  On top of that he takes the balls and throws them to me OR puts them in our Tupperware bowls.  Just watching him make these little strides is so fun to watch.

When we do bath time we have a ritual to look in the mirror, sing a song when done and just stare.  He looks at the mirror-me-him and picks up on that it is our reflection and then grabs mommy’s face and kisses it none stop.  Now that he has confidence in getting up and standing up on his own, he loves to try this in the bath tub… very fearless and makes mommy very nervous.

We know Dominic loves his food.  The past few weeks we have been having Dominic eat on his own bananas, watermelon, pears, berries, eggs, toast, tatters and sweet potatoes.  It is a work in progress and he just is getting use to the textures. He watches mommy, daddy and Nana eat the food which has made him more willing to do it on his own.  BUT nothing will ever be as good as his Puff Puffs.

For Thanksgiving we were going to travel to Georgia but Dominic got very sick and we could not travel.  It started off as a simple ear infection then 2 days later his temperature sky rocked to 103.8 with a runny nose and upper respiratory congestion.  After 9 days of some sleepless nights and monitoring his Tylenol and Motrin we FINALLY were able to help Dominic beat the virus.  Now he is a happy baby boy that smiles from ear to ear.  When he was sick, he wasn’t too unhappy.  Even though he wouldn’t crack a smile because he was so sick, he would just stare at us and be content.

This Thanksgiving we spent time with Nana, Bampa and some of our Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.  It was filled with running around, laughing with family and playing with fun toys with the cousins.

I cannot believe Dominic is 11 months and some of his favorite things are clapping, blowing kisses, giving “high five”, trying to catch the kitties and throwing ball with Ellie Bellie and now that he is mobile he is getting into everything.  He wants to explore everything that is new to him and when we call his name.  He does stop and listen at times when we say no but as every baby likes to do, they test their boundaries.

As we approach Christmas, we look forward to seeing how Dominic will react to Santa and the bright Christmas tree.

10 Months and Offically OFF.....

So we have lift off.... Dominic started to crawl on November 7th.  He had been doing really good pulling himself up and scaffolding the couch.  Between that and walking with daddy or mommy holding his hands, we knew it was a matter of time.  So one night daddy lined up all his toys and was playing with them, making Dominic jealous and then all the sudden he was enticed to make the distance and crawl.

Now at daycare, with Nana and at home he is still pretty cautious about getting around but ALWAYS wanting to pull himself up so let us see where this next chapter takes us....

Mac's Apples and Much More...

We took Dominic for his 1st Pumpkin experience at Mac’s Apple, family run orchard in Londonderry. This is where we took pregnancy pictures with the little bundle of joy too, so it was a special day for all of us.  It was such a beautiful day with the sun shinning, blue skies and a little wind. Dominic was so excited with all these new sights and things to touch, it was fun to watch him take everything in.

The last weekend in November, we took Dominic to his first soccer game at Keene State.  He LOVED watching all the boys kick the ball around and had fun with daddy cheering on his college team.

On Halloween, Dominic was “SUPERMAN” and loved spinning around on the hardwood floors.  We had many little kiddos stop by for trick-err-treating and Dominic loved it but there were a few costumes he did not like and cried a little. So to cheer him up, we danced to monster mash and played with all the toys.

Dominic also attended his first birthday party for his cousin, Frederik's 2nd Birthday.  Dominic played with all the other children that were there, goofed around by pulling himself up on the kiddos as they played around.  It was fun to spend time with family and celebrate these events together.

We also finally got to meet his future girlfriend “Cayleigh Hanlon. It was a afternoon full of giggles, belly time and just poking each other as they got to know each other.

Happy 10 months to Mr. Dominic!!!  During his monthly photo shot, he decided to read his books which he LOVES to do now and moved around non stop. His favorite are the books that you can touch and feel the different materials. He also thought it would be good idea to break out the Boston Red Sox hat.

At daycare, Dominic is much happier now and making friends....even close girlfriends.  He is learning to clap his hands now along with giving high five and kisses.  It has only been 2 months, but already, Dominic is picking up on many things the older kids are doing. He loves his table that has lights and buttons let him play with and then I tease him to make his way over to the couch for an other bright toy.  This has been a work in progress but Dominic has been doing really good at moving his feet.  At this point who knows if he will crawl or walk first.. ..lets take bets??//??
